Why and how I work:
I suppose I paint a memory to hang on a wall. I choose a canvas shape to fit how I want the memory to feel (based on sketches and reference material) and loosely paint in the main areas first to establish composition.
I use acrylics for their versatility and fast drying. To remind myself why I chose to paint a subject I scribble something underneath like; "Old, imposing building" it helps me keep on track.
When it comes to my palette I have learnt to choose my colours wisely, just 2 or 3 plus their compliments for mixing fresh neutrals

P.S. I make no excuses for painting the beautiful Island of Capri as often as possible - you will also find a few helpful tips and links if you would like to know more about this stunning island - plus a link to (in my opinion), the best hotel to stay at - The Canasta
